February 9 Minutes

The February 9 ,2022 meeting was held at the Broadway Brewery in downtown Columbia, MO.

  • The week of February 7 also marked the beginning of the recolonization effort at Mizzou. D.J. Gries, Director of Expansion for Sigma Chi is heading the New Chapter Initiative on the University of Missouri – Columbia campus.
  • On February 6 a Joint Province Conference was held in St Louis involving 12 Chapters and Colonies from schools including Bradley University, Eastern Illinois University Colony, Illinois State Colony, Knox College, Missouri S & T, Missouri State University, Saint Louis University, University of Illinois, University of Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Southeast Missouri State University, Western Illinois University, and Westminster College Colony.
  • Ed Winkler, Missouri S&T 1987 has been selected to the 2022 Class of the Order of Constantine. Ed is a Charter member of Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni. Congratulations.

December 8, 2021 Minutes

Members of the Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni met at the Broadway Brewery, Columbia, MO for a dinner meeting on Wednesday, December 8 ,2021. September 8, 2021 Minutes

The September 8 meeting was held at Flat Branch Pub in Columbia. The outdoor patio setting was excellent. President Andy Kassel, Western Illinois ‘ 95 has done a fine job of moving meetings around to outdoor locations in Columbia. Westminster Colony Advisor Bob Aulgur, Westminster, ’75 attended the 2021 Krach Transformational Leadership Workshop – KTLW held in Miami, Ohio. Bob gave a report on the KTLW.

We also discussed two Chapter Eternal Westminster Sigma Chi Alumni. Jim Icenogel, Westminster ‘ 71 composed an outstanding  description of brotherhood in March 2003 when he wrote  ” It can last a lifetime – and, I believe beyond ” Brother Icenogel died in 2008. The other CE Westminster alumnus is C David White who was one of the founders of Delta Tau Chapter. He is listed as # 1 on the the 1949 Delta Tau Charter.

June 9, 2021 Minutes

Members of the Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter met in person for a dinner meeting at Cherry Street Cellar, Columbia, Missouri on June 9. Most of the business would center around the Grand Chapter to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona. Jon McGuff, Missouri ’15 was the official delegate representing our chapter at the 83rd Grand Chapter. Ben Trachtenberg, Yale ’01 and Andy Kassel Western Illinois ’95 attended as well on behalf of Central Missouri Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter.

Tim Sanderson, Western ‘ 85  was elected by the Sigma Chi International Fraternity as the 72nd Grand Consul. He is the third Grand Consul from Canada in our 166 year history. He is quoted as saying ” It is often said in my home country that the world needs more Canada. I believe that the world needs more Sigma Chi. The world needs more of our values, our generosity, and our ambitions “.

Northern Missouri Grand Praetor Ed Beckmann, Southeast Missouri ’08 has been awarded the Seven Lights Alumni Award by the Sigma Chi International Fraternity.
